TWG September 29th, 2008

Tonight will be the first performance of TWG in many months not featuring Cowboys Who Fighted. The story will be missed, but if you didn’t see it at least once, then…you haven’t been coming to TWG enough this year. I kid. A little.

It’s being replaced by a delightful story from last year that has never before been seen by the public. Exciting!

Also, tonight is the last week of what we call “round 1” of this year. New cast starts next week, so this is your last chance for at least two months to see the prodigious talents of the folks like Tai, Tom, Mary Winn, Tim, Donnell, Kurt, Erick and Meredith who will be cycling out of the show. If that’s not incentive I don’t know what is.

Full running order after the jump.

Free Theater, and a party!

Posted by Heidi at 01:09 PM in

As I mentioned yesterday, BOM is participating in the city-wide “Free Night of Theater” promotion in January. In conjunction with this event, we will be hosting a small reception/Halloween party immediately following our performance on October 27th. We haven’t released the free tickets  for that performance yet, but we will in the next week or two. We hope that even those of you who don’t take part in the promotion will attend the show that night and stick around for a little celebrating and chatting with the performers after.

Don’t worry, we’ll remind you later. And if you only have time for one monkey event in October, I still recommend the Fancy Schmancy Benefit on October 17th.

Free Theater!

BOM is happy to be participating in the nationwide Free Night of Theater this October.

This is the official blurb:
“Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for the not-for-profit American theatre, developed this exciting and innovative national audience development initiative to attract new audiences and raise public awareness about live theatre. As TCG continues to roll out the Free Night program across an expanding national stage, the program provides a unique opportunity for theatres nationwide to collaborate on a project that provides access for new audiences to experience the joy of theatre for the first time. “

In a nutshell, if you like theater, you can see a lot of it for free in October. Lots of styles and varieties on offer. Some shows are sold out already (and tickets only went on sale a couple hours ago!), but more tickets may be added later and I know for a fact that some have been held back for later release. The only place you can get these tickets is online. Love it!

Thanks to the League of Chicago Theaters for working to bring this program to Chicago.

Things are really rolling now in the first round of the 08-09 school year. The cast is fully in the swing of things, and it’s a great time to come check out the show.

Two new stories this week, the heartfelt anthem “The Boxer” and the fab-u-lous “Robo-bot” both of which are making their TWG debuts. Full running order after the jump.

Buy your tickets online so that you don’t have to mess with making change.

TWG September 15th, 2008

As you probably noticed, it rained a little this weekend. That did not keep our intrepid actors away from rehearsal, though they all brought umbrellas.

Rachel’s is particularly colorful:

Mary Winn even brought pizza:

Luckily the rain didn’t get into the theater, and they were able to add two new stories for your viewing pleasure. First, a dialogue set in Hawaii will transport you to a drier climate, and second “The Lady That Don’t Know What to Write” details some common frustrations for writers. Of course, fan favorites like “Astronauts” and “You! Can’t! Win!” are still there for your delight and pleasure.

I forgot to mention last week that it was the lovely Mary Winn Heider‘s first performance in TWG.  Let’s give her a warm welcome with an enthusiastic audience!

Full running order after the jump.
