The Fancy Schmancy Benefit will include a brief performance by the ensemble, live and silent auctions, and much much more.
Items to be auctioned include:
- A show stopping trip to New York City (with tickets to a taping of Saturday Night Live)
- A relaxing beach vacation…make that THREE relaxing beach vacations, in three different locations.
- A chance for your story to be performed in TWG
- A gourmet dinner cooked by a professional chef, in your own home
- A mouth-watering tour of Chicago Restaurants, courtesy of Lettuce Entertain You
- A literary adventure with your own book club (featuring author visits)
- All inclusive rooftop baseball!

- We encourage you to bring your checkbook for the fastest transactions. While we will accept visa and mastercard, credit card transactions must be done manually. Please note, because of city regulations we can not accept cash. Checks made out to Barrel of Monkeys are the much preferred method of payment. Thanks for your understanding!
Attire
True Fancy Schmancy attire begs for a hat of outstanding proportions. However, all attire—from jeans to ball gowns—is welcome. A formal skirt paired with a hockey jersey? Perfect! Top hat and tails over board shorts? Totally acceptable! Purple velour jumpsuit? Why, you must be a member of the ensemble. Fringe and feathers are always in vogue.
Those who would like to be Schmancy but are worried they won’t quite pull it off, a special ticket price is available and we will provide you with the proper accouterments (table sponsorships also include Schmancification).
