Mississippi

By Johnnie C., West Pullman Park Words at Play Program
Poems That's Weird, Grandma

Mississippi has animals
Elephants
Lions
Seals
I like it’s tv’s.
Lots of channels
I ate pancakes, sausages, eggs, bacon and mashed potatoes
It was warm, cold and hot
I listened to “50 cent” and Chris Brown
I just listened to it
It made me feel pretty good
My Aunt Julia and Grandma
Was there
Auntie Thelma was there
And Auntie Deloris
We drove there…
It took 12 hours…
I would go again.

The Lady that Don’t know What to Write

By Diamond W., Stockton
True Stories Poems That's Weird, Grandma

I don’t know what to write about.
Then I just shout.
Now I’m really really mad
And I’m feeling sad.
It seems like I’m going to cry.
But I’m going to fry some onions to cry.

Well he threw the stone at my foot
Ow!
Weep
Stone hit my foot
Aw man
I don’t know!
Everybody says,
“Nooo!”
“Don’t stop!”

Untitled (Trees)

By Elizabeth, 4th Grade, Loyola Park After School Program
Poems Songs

Trees can talk,
They can also walk.

They can sing,
But, they have no bling.

Trees like to dance,
But the don’t know they have no chance.

Keys

By Chan N., 4th Grade, Field School
True Stories Poems Songs That's Weird, Grandma

My dad gave me some keys to get me in the house. And it made me proud of myself and I feel like a responsible person. I never lost my key cause I keep them in my room. And my keys are for the front door and the other key is for to get in the house. And that's the end of my story.
