One day I went with my mom and I bought a big bottle of popcorn. And we went back to the house and we went nuts. And we throw popcorn in the air and we caught some popcorn in our mouth. And then we went and bought some more popcorn. And I went crazy and I was hyper because it was sweet popcorn. My dad threw popcorn at my face he ran out the house. And then he came back in and he threw popcorn at his face and he was so mad. And he throw some more popcorn and we had a popcorn fight. And he had another popcorn fight and I won. Ding ding ding! The winner is Joshua Aaaa!

True Stories
One day I was watching Dream Girls and all of a sudden my TV cut off and I turned it back on and it was back on, and my screen was green. Then my baby brother started crying. My mom started screaming. My granddad was cooking. I went to the bathroom and there was no toilet. Then I said, “Mom, there’s no toilet!” Next, my upstairs neighbor came downstairs and said, “Can I use your bathroom?” I said, “No, there’s no toilet.” Then her eyes were read. Mom’s were green, Granddad’s were purple, and my baby brother’s were all white. Then I was cross eyed. Du Du Du Duuuu. Next thing you know everything was back to normal. I said, “Mom, I had the most horrible dream.” Then I went back to sleep.

True Stories Celebration of Authors COA 2008
When I went to Wisconsin first, I fixed my clothes in the drawers in my room and then we went to a Walmart close to our hotel which was called Wilderness on the Lake. After that my mom and dad stayed cooking food with me my sister and my nieces and my 2 brothers and my others sister and my 2 aunts went to swim in the hotel swimming place. After that we came back and we were hungry so we ate. Then the next day we went to a place where you can ride horses. I rode a horse by myself and was excited but at the same time I was scared because what if I fell. Day after that I went to a place where there was lots of pools. A day after that I went to walk around the hotel we found a place where you can play golf so the next day we went to play golf. The next day we went to a place where we went in the house it was backwards you saw all the things backwards it was called the top secret and there one of my nieces got lost so we had to look for her. So we packed our things and came back to Chicago.

True Stories Celebration of Authors COA 2008
One Day I went to the zoo before the first day of school and went and saw a lot of animals like a jaguar and a cheetah and even a baby gorilla. I also saw a bunch of seals swimming and there’s a little opening under so we can see under water to see how they look closer or how many there is. But before I can leave and see another animal the zoo keepers came out with a bucket of fish and make them do tricks. After that I went and saw a lion and a man lion they were pretty big but when I seen a polar bear they were huge they was the size of a motorcycle and we were really high up so the bears don’t escape. Next I went to a house of monkeys and saw those monkeys that have different colors on their face and seemed to like the jewelry on my wrist and was really close to me. Then I saw a giraffe and an ostrich and a baby giraffe they baby giraffe was even taller than me after that I was exhausted and went home. The End

True Stories Celebration of Authors COA 2008
I was outside riding my bike when the bug showed up. He made a sound like Mrrrrah! I got off the bike to see what it was. It was a bug, and it was red, white, and green. It had 4 legs and wings and black spotty dots, it was shiny and bald it had three big old eyes they were black and yellow. I wanted to get close to get a better look. I walked up to it, it made me mad, and it farted. The fart smelled like dooky, and onions and aliens’ brains and it smelled cheese stinky cheese I was mad so I squashed it with my bike. I was dead and yellow blood came out the blood came out and smelled like rotten eggs.
The blood didn’t get on my bike. I went home, told my mom, she believed me because she could smell the terrible smell. Then I took a shower put on my clothes and ride my bike again.
